How often do I need a dental cleaning?

Most patients only need to schedule biannual dental cleanings to keep their teeth and gums clean and healthy. If you have gum disease or are on the verge of developing gum disease, we may recommend that you visit our office more often. Even if you take great care of your dental health at home (and we know that you do!), it’s still important to see a dental professional regularly to maintain optimal oral health.

Do teeth cleanings hurt?

Dental cleanings should not be painful. If you have sensitive teeth or gums, you may experience some discomfort during your cleanings, and if this is the case, please let our team know so we can be as gentle and careful as possible. If your teeth or gums ever become unusually sensitive, that can be a sign that there is a dental issue that needs to be taken care of, so we will want to know if you experience any changes in sensitivity as well.

Will a professional teeth cleaning whiten my smile?

Excellent dental cleanings have the ability to remove some of the surface-level stains that collect on the front of the teeth, but they will never offer a noticeably whiter smile the way that teeth whitening treatments can. Professional teeth whitening is a great service to get after a cleaning, so if you are interested in whitening your teeth, let us know! How much does a dental cleaning cost with dental insurance?

Routine dental cleanings and exams are almost always completely covered by dental insurance, although some plans may have a very small co-pay. Our office also offers an in-house dental savers plan for uninsured patients that covers cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, and X-rays, and we accept CareCredit^® payment plans as well. Yesterday was my first time at Queensbroro Dental and hands down the absolute best dental visit I have ever had. I had an emergency visit for a broken molar that was in really bad shape and had the pleasure of being treated by Dr.Dan. After some quick X-rays, Dr.Dan came in to tell me the harsh truth, the tooth must go and I needed a cavity in the next tooth to be taken care of as well. Dr.Dan presented me with three treatment options also demonstrating how each one worked which was amazing. Shortly after Angie one of the receptionist’s came in with the break down of all three plans with what insurance coverages and what I would end up paying. After some careful deliberation the choice to go with an implant was made and shortly after we began. Let me tell you for a man with many big muscles he was so so gentle I honestly didn’t feel a thing and both procedures were done before I even realized it. From front desk to the dentist and even the dental assistant everyone warmed my heart which is so very rare now a days sadly. They truly do care and I will absolutely be going back for further treatment

I had the best visit with dental hygienist Thinley. This was probably the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Her approach was so gentle and she had great bedside manner. I’ve never been had such a gentle cleaning. Usually I’m tense the entire visit and waiting for it to hurt but that didn’t happen at all today. Excellent service. The receptionist Jazmin is literally so sweet and the reason I even ended up coming here. She helped me book an appointment and explained cost breakdowns in an easily digestible way. Dr Dan was also very thorough and was willing to answer all of my questions and provide clarity when needed. He was very gentle and talked me through everything he was doing. At checkout I was provided with all necessary paperwork and even a little dental care package with a toothbrush toothpaste and floss; I haven’t been to a dentist who has done that in a while so that was a nice surprise.
